
Classic Rice Krispie Treats
Gooey, buttery marshmallow Rice Krispie squares — the ultimate no-bake treat

These Rice Krispie treats are the gooey, buttery version we all dream about — extra marshmallow, extra butter, and barely pressed into the pan so they stay soft.
The secret: use double the marshmallows and never, ever pack the mixture tightly into the pan. Gently press with buttered hands.
Add brown butter for a nutty upgrade that makes them irresistible.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 10 oz marshmallows (about 40 large)
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Melt butter in a large pot over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.

Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt.

Add cereal and fold gently until coated.

Press gently into a buttered 9x13 pan with buttered hands. Don't compress.

Cool 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
