By RecipesQueen Kitchen • June 10, 2026
Summer lunch ideas for kids are seeing a 1,000% monthly search surge as parents look for fun, nutritious meals that don't require heating up the kitchen. These rainbow pinwheel wraps are the answer.
Soft tortillas are layered with cream cheese, deli turkey, and a colorful rainbow of veggies — shredded carrots, purple cabbage, bell peppers, and leafy greens. Roll them tight, slice into pinwheels, and you've got a lunch that's as beautiful as it is balanced.
Kids love the bite-sized pinwheel shape, and parents love that they're packed with veggies. Make a batch in the morning and they're ready to grab-and-go all day.
Ingredients
- 4 large flour tortillas (spinach or regular)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 slices deli turkey or ham
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup shredded purple cabbage
- 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup baby spinach leaves
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- 1
Lay each tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese evenly across the entire surface.
- 2
Layer 2 slices of deli turkey over the cream cheese, leaving a 1-inch border at the top edge.
- 3
Arrange carrots, purple cabbage, bell pepper strips, spinach, and cheddar cheese in rows across the center of the tortilla.
- 4
Starting from the bottom edge, roll the tortilla tightly, tucking the fillings as you go. The cream cheese helps seal the wrap.
- 5
Wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- 6
Remove plastic wrap and slice each roll into 1-inch pinwheels using a sharp knife. Arrange on a plate and serve.
