Thin, flaky pastry wrapped around spiced apple filling with raisins, walnuts, and cinnamon. Served warm with vanilla sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs, toasted in butter
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

    Make dough: mix flour, egg, water, and oil. Knead until smooth. Rest 30 min covered.

    Stretch dough on a floured cloth until paper-thin (you should see through it).

    Spread toasted breadcrumbs, then apple slices, raisins, sugar, and cinnamon.

    Roll up using the cloth to help. Place seam-side down on a lined baking sheet.

    Brush with melted butter. Bake at 190°C for 35-40 minutes until golden. Dust with powdered sugar.
