Caramelized onions in rich beef broth, topped with crusty bread and melted Gruyère cheese.

Ingredients

  • 5 large onions, sliced
  • 1 L beef broth
  • 4 slices baguette
  • 150 g Gruyère, grated
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 100 ml white wine

Instructions

    Caramelize onions in butter over low heat 30-40 min.

    Sprinkle flour, stir. Add wine and broth. Simmer 20 min.

  3. 3

    Ladle into oven-safe bowls. Float baguette, pile on cheese.

    Broil until cheese is golden and bubbling.
