Curly kale slow-cooked with Kasseler smoked pork and Pinkel sausage. A Northern German winter tradition.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb curly kale, stems removed
  • 1 lb smoked pork (Kasseler)
  • 4 smoked sausages
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp German mustard
  • 3 tbsp rolled oats

Instructions

    Blanch kale 2 minutes. Drain and chop.

    Sauté onions. Add kale, broth, Kasseler, and oats. Simmer 1.5 hours.

    Add sausages in the last 20 minutes. Stir in mustard.
