Three kinds of meat — beef, pork, and lamb — layered with potatoes, carrots, and cabbage.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz beef chuck, cubed
  • 8 oz pork shoulder, cubed
  • 8 oz lamb shoulder, cubed
  • 3 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1/4 savoy cabbage, shredded
  • 1 leek, sliced
  • 3 cups beef broth

Instructions

    Layer meats and vegetables alternately in a heavy pot, seasoning each layer.

    Pour broth over. Simmer covered 1.5 hours without stirring.

    Gently stir before serving.
