A pillowy yeasted base smothered in buttery, golden crumble topping. Can be filled with fruit, quark, or simply enjoyed plain.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour (for dough)
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 0.5 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1.5 cups flour (for streusel)
  • 0.75 cup sugar (for streusel)
  • 0.75 cup cold butter, cubed (for streusel)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

    Make yeast dough. Let rise 1 hour. Press onto a lined baking sheet.

    For streusel: mix flour, sugar, and vanilla. Rub in cold butter until large crumbles form.
