A savory autumn tart with a yeasted crust, creamy onion-bacon-sour cream filling. Traditionally served with Federweißer (new wine).

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 6 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 150 g bacon, diced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds

Instructions

    Make yeast dough and let rise 45 minutes. Press into a tart pan.

    Fry bacon, add onions, cook until soft and translucent (15 min).

    Mix onion-bacon mixture with sour cream, eggs, and caraway. Pour into dough.

    Bake at 200°C for 30-35 minutes until golden. Serve warm with Federweißer.
